In this video, we mainly explain the distinction between good and bad mainboards and the identification of manufacturers of iPhone mainboards.

Whether the mainboard is good or bad depends on whether there will be broken wires inside the board when the components are welded at high temperature during maintenance.

From the video in the previous section, we know that there will be 8-12 layers of lines inside the mainboard.

After the bad mainboard is blown by the air gun, it will cause the internal disconnection, which will cause the signal to fail to transmit.

For example, if we repair an audio fault, remove the audio chip and install it again, the phone may not be turned on, then we don't know how to explain it to the customer.

Therefore, when we repair, we must first determine whether the mainboard of this machine is very poor.

If it is very poor, we must take protective measures first, and then repair it.

There are many manufacturers of iPhone mainboards, there are good mainboards and bad mainboards among them.

Let's take a look at Apple's mainboard manufacturers

The first one is UMT, UMT is a PCB mainboard produced by Taiwan Unimicron Technology

The second is OPC, which is produced by Meiwei Company.

ATS represents AT&S, COMPEQ represents COMPEQ MANUFACTURING company from Taiwan, IBI is from Japan's IBIDEN Company

The other two are AVA and MRS

Those are the English abbreviations of the manufacturer's name.

These manufacturers will be used in Apple's entire series of models

For example, among the iPhone x mainboards, there are UMT, OPC, ATS, and COMPEQ and MRS.

The code identification of the PCB manufacturer is generally in the open position of the mainboard

For example, in the picture, OPC indicates that this mainboard is produced by Meiwei Company

Next, let's identify it in the real thing

The mainboard of the iPhone XS Max is marked OPC, indicating that it is produced by China Meiwei Company

The manufacturer of this is ATS, the manufacturer of this is AVA, the manufacturer of this mainboard identifies OPC in this place

Let's take a look at the mainboard of the iPhone 11.

This manufacturer is AVA, and this manufacturer is OPC. Then these two are iPhone 11 mainboards, which are produced by two different manufacturers.

There are also some other manufacturers, for example, this is the mainboard of iPhone 7, its serial number is COMPEQ, and it is the bottom plate produced by COMPEQ Manufacturing Company from Taiwan

There are also some relatively rare mainboards called IBI, produced by Japan's Yiyi Electronics
